Privacy policy

Leads Welcome is a static website. We don't run user accounts or comments, and we don't knowingly collect personal information through the site itself.

What may be collected

• Emails you send us. If you use a "suggest a place" or "report a correction" link, your email program sends us a message. We use it only to review your suggestion and may reply. We don't sell or share it.
• Hosting logs. Our static host may keep standard server logs, such as IP address, browser and pages requested, for security and performance.
• Affiliate partners. If you click a partner link, that partner (for example Pet Circle, Booking.com, Mad Paws or a pet insurer) may set cookies to track the referral under its own privacy policy.
• Analytics. None installed. Shared links may carry ?utm_source=share so that, if privacy-friendly analytics are ever added, we could count shared visits; nothing reads it today.

Features that run only on your device

• “Nearest” sort. If you tap Nearest, your browser asks whether to share your location. If you allow it, the distance to each venue is worked out in your browser. Your location is never sent to us or anyone else, and never stored. We only ask when you tap; nothing happens if you don't.
• ♡ Saved list. Venues you save are kept in your browser's local storage on this device. There's no account and we can't see your list. If you use Share my list, the link contains the venue names (short codes) you chose, and whoever you send it to can see them. Clearing your browser data deletes the list.
• Share buttons use your phone's own share sheet or copy the link to your clipboard. We don't see who you share with.

Maps and other third parties

• Map tiles. When you open a map, the map images (“tiles”) load directly from OpenStreetMap's tile servers, which see your IP address and the area you're viewing, under the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy. Maps load only on the map page or when you tap Map.
• Directions links open Google Maps with the venue's address. Google's privacy policy applies once you're there.
• Venue locations were looked up once, when we built the site, from each venue's published address (OpenStreetMap Nominatim). That lookup involves no visitor data.
• Fonts and the map library are hosted on this site, not loaded from Google Fonts or a CDN.
• Email alerts. There's no email sign-up yet. If we add one, this page will name the provider and explain how your email address is used.

Your rights

You can ask what information we hold about you, or ask us to delete your emails, by contacting us at the address on the suggest page. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply.
